[Applause] good day Sharks my name is Hajger and I’m Zen we’re the co-founders for Following today we’re seeking 850,000 dirhams for 10% equity and following following is a groundbreaking influencer marketing platform set to revolutionize the way marketers and influencers collaborate we streamline communication scheduling all within a integrated influencer platform when it comes to the market size in the UAE there’s a remarkable 100,000 retail businesses which currently operate around 60% of the businesses already use influencer marketing or have used them in the past this is quite staggering because when you look at the amount spent on influencer marketing on an annual basis in the UAE is around $300 million so what we’ve done is we’ve built a comprehensive campaign creation tool for brands to create their campaigns manage the payments and monitor the progress and results all through one platform
this investment will be to further technological development and for market growth congratulations Zay and Hajer
thank you yes social media is extremely important for both small medium and largesiz companies tell me a little bit about yourself both of you what are your backgrounds and what got you into this business basically I studied the business management in UAE i’ve been in UAE for the last 15 years of my life i did my schooling from here after that I got a job in the payments industry where my main goal was uh managing the digital ecosystem for companies uh doing payment gateways and uh payment by links uh I have an internal sales uh background i have a international business management degree as well we went to the same university so once we graduated and we’ve seen this gap between marketers and influencers and um really thought to work on this platform and now we’re here so there’s a lot of platforms that do this at different parts of the world so just want to make sure I understand how much traction you have so take us through how many people have signed up how many contracts you’ve processed whatever you want to tell us so we are at a very early stage uh we opened up our weight list in uh December last year since then we’ve gathered around 8,000 influencers on our weight list so we are set to launch uh at the second half of this month with around 10 brands in our platform and around 8,000 local UAE influencers
so you’re basically two-sided marketplace you’re charging the brands that want access to you and then you’re taking a commission presumably on the on the deal when you strike it with the influencer so what are the what’s the pricing of those packages our lowest tier package is designed for startups we’re giving 30 barter influencers in that package and it’s priced at $400 a month this package allows them to have their own dashboard and allows them to mention specific brand hashtags and descriptions they give full transparency on the platform and the packages obviously go up in pricing as you climb up so the second one is $900 and then the last one gives you 120 influencers of slightly larger tier so like there’s some mega influencers in there as well and that’s priced at $2,900 a month and when you say give you what’s the other side of that transaction look like what’s the influencer getting
generally these packages they involve barter transactions meaning a brand has to give a product or a service or affiliate code to the influencer um in terms of payments if the brand opts for a paid campaign then we’re getting somewhere from 7% to 3% depending on the size of the influencer so guys you haven’t done a campaign yet and you guys have zero experience in marketing and in the business of influencer marketing agencies that kind of world and there are maybe five or six competitors that I know very well have been in the market for 10 years with 50 employees multiple clients the system been tested and tested and retested what’s going to make you succeed it’s like mission impossible we might not have like specific experience in like uh influencer campaigns but I do have like a vast experience in like other kinds of SAS platforms and we do understand
about SAS this is about an influencer not waking up
forgetting to do her post you know and then doing in a sloppy way and the client screaming on the phone and saying this is not what I paid for this this is a complex world dealing with humans about SAS
right we’ve uh kind of automated all those problems onto our platform so when it comes to deliverables all of that is already being taken care of with our the way our contract
have you managed campaigns before in that world have you run campaigns your personally
while we were working on this platform we did uh an influencer campaign for one of the larger universities of UAE and we provided them 50 influencers um it was just the difference was it wasn’t through our application it was just manual but uh on the back end it was we were using our systems as So so what is the potential market share that you you expect to get in the first 3 years
for our first year we’re expecting a revenue of 1.1 million durhams and then following that we’re expecting a revenue of 3.2 million dirhams in the following year
you mentioned earlier that there is 8,000 influencers on the waiting list explain to me this concept of waiting list
it’s a double-sided marketplace right so the brands they want a good amount of influencers on the platform before they enroll to us and the influencers they want to see what brands we’re working with so we thought it would be a good idea to have a wait list kind of get like a referral model going wherein like the influencer can invite other influencers as well to the platform and that’s kind of what gave us the traction as well uh initially
and obviously different influencers suit different products different situations how do you match that i mean
it’s all automated right so we get uh all the analytics directly from the main social media platforms when they join our uh application they just fill the preliminary details like their name their date of birth and then every time a brand creates a campaign on the platform they’re automatically matched with that

so guys can you tell me a little bit more about how you vet the influencers cuz of course with social media now there’s there’s so many of these influencers that claim to be influencers but they’re not their numbers are not real let’s say so how do you vet them
the platform it detects like a surge of followers and a surge in engagement rate as well like if you have um 8,000 followers on one day and the very next week you have 300,000 followers it’s going to detect that automatically but it also looks at some deeper analytics like uh how many likes you’re getting compared to like how many followers you have and what your average comment says and uh anyone that has like a suspicious following or engagement rate they’re not allowed to go past the signup period
guys I just want to give you my point of view i think you’re 10 years too late personally I think the market is over served uh there’s too many players local and international i don’t think there’s any place for new entrance in the market especially that you have zero experience in that business you guys are fresh you’re great you’re smart but you don’t have the experience so I cannot invest in your company i wish you all the best but I’m out so guys my fear is that for a product like this you’re going to need tens of millions of dollars it’s not even deads in order to get it out improve your actual product scale it do the marketing and uh I’m not keen on coming in at such a high valuation so early on where you’re going to have to definitely raise few other rounds to keep this going so for those reasons I’m out

and you said you’re projecting 1.1 million for the first year are you going to be making any money on that or we’re expecting a profit on that so because we don’t necessarily have any um cost of goods sold we’re a tech company uh as compared to like selling products to the to the market so while we do invest in our platform up front uh once it’s up and up and running then uh yeah our costs uh are very minimal
and what is your net percentage expectation for year 1 and year 2
um so our net profit that we expect uh on the first year is around 750K
but your revenue is 1.1 million so you’re expecting a net profit of 750K yes
so I have an offer for you um 850,000 for 35% okay and I’m happy to go in with you if you if you think there’s value there i have a feeling I could probably be helpful my my hesitation is to the gentleman on the right feels like the market is crowded but I really like your answers i feel like you understand a business i know enough to understand that that just solving a small part of this equation can create a big opportunity right
as investors how do you see us getting our cash out what’s what’s the exit what’s the strategy
we do have an exit strategy in place we want to grow this out to be a marketplace but we want this to be like the influencer everything app so we want the influencers to join our platform be able to get their license uh for the government from the platform so we want to add like more and more solutions for the influencers and the brands within the platform i I like what you’re doing and I understand the problem and I wouldn’t go into it on my own but for 35% I’d go in with you
perfect cuz I have I have some local knowledge i can use that to help you out and then obviously we can get some you know global knowledge so that’s the reason we’re asking so much cuz it’s still pre-revenue i mean 750k sounds get great great on paper uh but again it’s a risk we’re not so sure if it’s going to happen so that’s our offer to be very honest with you we’ve bootstrapped the project uh very successfully so far we do believe in the idea uh we do realize that we are at a very early stage so giving 35% would be a bit uh like irrational on our sake because if we go with any venture capitals later on once the product actually is established we won’t really have like any equity left uh any significant equity for the VCs i understand your point about uh down the road taking in venture capital but by getting both of us that day is going to come a lot later and with a lot more revenue it’s a it’s like you’re effectively adding another co-founder to be honest is is the way to look at it and I know what we could do together is totally change the trajectory of your business i understand it sounds like a lot but if you do the math 35 on your 75 is not that much dilution for the type of impact we’re going to make but but you got to feel good about it
do we have a second to discuss sure take your time 10 10 do you think uh we can go with 35 yeah be soft um I think we’d like to counter at um 850k for 20% i’m out of that so it’s all yours see 20 20 is um too less uh for the stage you’re at if you’re okay with this I don’t mind dropping five points bring it down to 30 because we need to have at least 15% each for putting in the effort to make your app successful
anything less than that becomes very challenging so I’m okay with dropping it down to 30 if you want to come along the way
